Uppingham School offers an outstanding opportunity for a sports undergraduate to gain hands-on coaching experience within one of the UKs leading co-educational independent schools, working across a broad and dynamic sporting programme. You will support the delivery of training sessions, fixtures and co-curricular sport, while gaining exposure to performance analysis, athletic development, sports administration and boarding life.
Working alongside experienced Heads of Sport and performance coaches, you will contribute to the development of pupils across all age groups, from participation level to aspiring elite athletes. This placement is designed to accelerate your coaching development, deepen your understanding of player pathways and provide meaningful responsibility within a high-performing sporting environment, all while receiving mentorship and structured professional guidance.
About you
Successful candidate will be undertaking an undergraduate degree in Sports Science, Coaching, Physical Education or a related discipline, and hold (or are working towards) a Level 1 coaching qualification. You will be confident, organised and motivated, with experience of working with young people and a genuine passion for sport. You are keen to learn, open to feedback and excited by the opportunity to immerse yourself fully in school life while developing the practical skills needed for a future career in sport or education.
