Exciting times are ahead at Ormston School! As we grow and evolve, we’re on the lookout for a passionate Tutor to join our dedicated team. Your role will be pivotal in supporting curriculum delivery and stepping in as a cover supervisor when needed.

\n\n Your Role and Responsibilities\n \n

As a Tutor, you will:

\n

\n
• Enhance wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behavior management.
\n
• Collaborate with the education team to support students' personal and academic growth.
\n
• Encourage positive learning behaviors among young people.
\n
• Lead classes during PPA and absence cover.
\n
• Deliver engaging enrichment activities.
\n
• Assist in lessons, addressing academic and emotional needs.
\n
• Respond to immediate concerns and clarify situations.
\n
• Create and compile information related to lessons and interventions.
\n
• Prepare relevant information for pupil meetings.
\n
• Advocate for the ethos of Ormston School.
\n
• Lead interventions, including reading and phonics, while tracking progress.
\n
• Develop the Pupil Voice initiative in collaboration with SLT.
\n
• Build relationships with parents/carers, actively participating in transitions.
\n
• Lead ELSA sessions and complete local authority training.
\n

\n\n What We’re Looking For\n \n

To thrive in this role, you should have:

\n

\n
• A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
\n
• Experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA, Cover Supervisor).
\n
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH/Autism in an educational setting.
\n
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques.
\n
• A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
\n
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
\n
