Job Description

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will deliver high-quality planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown fault-finding, and minor installation works across a varied commercial estate.\n\nThis is a diverse, hands-on mechanical role where no two days are the same. We are looking for an all-round mechanical professional who combines strong HVAC/plant room engineering knowledge with extensive commercial plumbing and wet-works maintenance experience.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Commercial Mechanical Maintenance: Execute daily PPM schedules, reactive repairs, and system overhauls on a wide range of commercial mechanical infrastructure, ensuring maximum asset uptime and SLA compliance.\n\n * \n\n Plant Room & HVAC Care: Monitor, service, and troubleshoot plant room equipment, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), fan coil units, pumps, booster sets, heating loops, and chilled water circuits.\n\n * \n\n Commercial Plumbing & Drainage: Take absolute ownership of commercial wet-works. Diagnose and repair defects across domestic and commercial hot/cold water systems, localized pipework pipelines, radiators, control valves, sanitaryware, and drainage networks.\n\n * \n\n Water Hygiene & L8 Compliance: Conduct statutory water hygiene testing, including temperature monitoring, automated system flushing, and thermostatic mixing valve (TMV) servicing in strict accordance with ACOP L8 guidelines.\n\nQualifications & Training:\n\n * \n\n Time-served mechanical engineering background with a recognized qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Heating & Ventilation, or Commercial Plumbing).\n\n * \n\n Formal training in Water Hygiene / Legionella Awareness (ACOP L8) is highly desirable.\n\n * \n\n Hot Water Storage Systems (G3 Unvented) or an active CSCS Card is a major advantage.\n\n * \n\n A valid, clean UK Driving Licence is essential.\n\nExperience Required:\n\n * \n\n Verifiable experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a commercial facilities management environment (corporate offices, retail, hospitality, or public estates).\n\n * \n\n Strong, multi-trade competency in commercial plumbing installations, pipework repair, leak detection, and component changes (pumps, valves, actuators).\n\n * \n\n Confident ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical asset logbooks.\n\n * \n\n Meticulous eye for detail with a safety-first mindset and a professional, customer-focused approach when working in live tenant spaces.\n\nWhat’s on Offer?\n\n * \n\n Highly competitive base salary with excellent overtime earning potential.\n\n * \n\n Enrolment into an industry-leading company pension scheme.\n\n * \n\n Premium corporate benefits package including private healthcare pathways and employee discount structures.\n\n * \n\n Direct access to manufacturer-backed training courses (e.g., F-Gas, electrical cross-skilling, or advanced AP/RP pathways).\n\nApply online today or ccontact Astrid Camacho at Branta Recruitment for a conversation
