Job Title: Domestic Electrician – Fire Stopping & Lighting Upgrade Works\n\nLocation: Portsmouth\nJob Type: Contract\nStart Date: Tuesday 26th May\n\nHours: 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday\n\nJob Overview\n\nWe are looking for a qualified and reliable electrician to carry out electrical upgrade works in occupied domestic properties. The work involves removing existing light fittings to allow for upgrade works and installing fire-rated putty pads to electrical back boxes in line with fire stopping requirements.\n\nScope of Works\n\n * Safely isolate electrical circuits before work begins\n\n * Remove and refit existing light fittings where required\n\n * Install fire-rated putty pads to socket and switch back boxes\n\n * Ensure all works comply with current electrical regulations and fire safety standards\n\n * Make good and leave work areas clean and tidy\n\n * Test circuits after completion and confirm safe operation\n\nRequirements\n\n * Qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)\n\n * 18th Edition qualified\n\n * ECS/JIB card preferred\n\n * Manual Handling/Working at height/Asbestos Awareness Certs\n\n * Experience working in domestic properties\n\n * Familiarity with fire stopping products and installation methods\n\n * Own tools and transport preferred\n\n * Good communication and professionalism when working in occupied homes\n\nDesirable\n\n * Experience on social housing or residential upgrade programmes\n\n * Ability to work independently and complete works efficiently\n\n * Testing and inspection qualification advantageous\n\nContact Structure Recruitment for more details
